Archival Thin Paper<\/a><\/span><\/h3>\n

This new product is perfect for interleaving artwork when a semi-transparent, easy-to-handle thin paper is preferred. A bit thicker (thus a bit easier to handle) than standard interleaving tissues, this acid- and lignin-free 45 gsm paper is buffered with a 2% calcium carbonate reserve to prevent environmental contamination of the paper over time. The National Archives and Records Administration recommends buffered paper stock for the storage of ALL photographic materials (except cyanotypes and dye-transfer images). This paper is a wonderful overall interleaving material, and is available in pre-cut standard-sized sheets and in rolls.<\/span><\/p>\n

Archival Tissue<\/a><\/span><\/h3>\n

Not only well-suited for interleaving prints, this versatile archival tissue can also be used to wrap gowns and other textile items, and to wrap and cushion breakables. Our 25 gsm Archival Tissue is acid- and lignin-free, and thin enough for easy folding, padding or crumpling. Available buffered<\/strong> with a 2% calcium carbonate reserve, or un-buffered<\/strong> for use in protecting silk, wool, and certain photographic prints such as cyanotypes (blue prints) or those made using the dye-transfer process. This fine tissue can be purchased in standard-sized sheets, rolls, or shredded<\/a>. It is also available in custom-cut sizes (please contact us<\/a> for details).<\/span><\/p>\n

This archival-grade 63 gsm glassine can be used as an interleaving material for prints, etchings, watercolors, drawings and ink-jet prints. It can also be used for interleaving book illustrations, wrapping books and packaging paintings. PLEASE NOTE: while Translucent Glassine can be used for all of the applications listed above, it is NOT recommended for use with photographic prints with any sort of a gelatin layer. Under high humidity and warm temperature conditions glassine might adhere to the gelatin emulsion.<\/span><\/p>\n

Archival polyester 4 mil film is a very versatile material, owing to the fact that it’s inert and will not discolor or damage artwork. Its many uses include interleaving artwork, encapsulating letters and documents, covering the window openings in mats, and providing a barrier between archival material and surfaces containing residual acids. This material comes in optically clear standard-sized sheets and in rolls, and is the equivalent of Mylar D or Melinex 516.
