Yup, it’s that time of year, folks.

A figure of Time (with apologies to William Hogarth for the editorial license). Hey, it’s the end of the year, and this guy is SUPPOSED to show up someplace, right? BTW, folks, this is a hand-colored engraved copy of Hogarth’s original, and dates from around 1810. It’s from the author’s collection and yeah, in case you were wondering, Archival Methods has JUST THE RIGHT acid-free materials to archivally preserve it either in storage or elegantly displayed in a mat and frame on the wall, just like whatever YOU have – old or new! Read on!

Time to look back and tabulate our annual TOP 10 LIST of the Most Popular Archival Methods Blogs of 2016!

Yes folks, if you’ve got something that’s important or valuable to you—either sentimentally or monetarily—we’ve got the PERFECT solutions
to help you with whatever archival storage or presentation needs you may have! (Please click on either image for more information.)

Launched in late June of 2015, Archival Methods’ blogs cover a wide range of topics including preserving old family letters / photo albums / water-damaged books / 35mm slides / old newspapers & magazines / 8mm home movies / your art and photography portfolio, even wedding dresses and old or new toys (see pix above).

We’ve also written about (and illustrated!) everything you need to know about matting / interleaving / deciding on which portfolios or frames are best for you (see pix above) / finding a trained conservator / we even have a complete blog on the Association of Personal Photo Organizers (APPO) if ya don’t want to tackle sorting and organizing your family photos yourself!

  archival methods       archival methods
From old snapshots in the family archive (pix on left), to more contemporary digital prints from last summer (pix on right), Archival Methods has
fully illustrated blogs that address dating such images, printing or reprinting them, and their long-term acid-free preservation and presentation!
(Please click on each image for more information.)

With tens of thousands(!!!) of read-throughs of our roughly 120 blogs to date, we know we’re onto something when it comes to giving you blogs full of sound archival advice, each illustrated with crisp new photographs, and all tinged with just a smidgen of off-the-wall humor (pet squids, for example—go here for a further explanation).

So, with all that as background, we recently tabulated the numbers of visitors to each of our 120+ blogs and have listed them in order of their popularity in 2016, counting down from number 10 to number 1!

Archival Methods’ patented Blog-o-Meter tirelessly (and anonymously, just so ya know!) counts the number of times each one of our blogs gets checked out. It’s a thankless job, but someone’s gotta do it. This thing runs on a green technology wind-powered fracked-coal solar panel nuclear hamster wheel, and has a built in GPS cuz it keeps wondering off on its lunch break to go visit the golf cart the guy in the next county has in his shed. (Please click on the image for more information.)

And since there were a lot of blogs that scored really highly on our patented Blog-o-Meter (see pix above), yet didn’t quite crack the TOP 10 LIST, we’ve gone ahead and included the THREE MOST POPULAR blogs in each of our SEVEN blog categories at the end of this list (excluding those that DID make the “official TOP 10 LIST,” of course, was we didn’t want to list them twice twice, as that would be dopey dopey).

So, without further ado (and in all seriousness!), here they are…
