Application: We all know that Staples and OfficeMax offer inexpensive file folders in every style and color. But they don’t have these and they’re the ones you need. Why? Take a look at commercial grade and general purpose file folders and see what kind of board stock they are made of. In truth, you usually can’t tell. Some are made from recycled material. Great as public policy but a big question mark for archival storage. If the documents need to be permanently filed and retained they require archival quality file folders.

 Features: Archival Hanging file folders are made of certified and tested 11-point cream color card stock. The material is certified to meet long-term archival storage requirements and specifications. Card stock is acid- and lignin-free. Folders feature metal rods with a baked enamel white finish. Fifth-cut slots for plastic tabs (not included). Hanging folders are available in letter- and legal-size; open sides or gusseted pocket which will prevent media from falling out.

 Archival Tip: Fragile documents should never be just file-folder stored. Use protective packaging such as our envelopes, interleaving materials or sleeves, as appropriate and as desired.

Specifications:
-  The paper contains a minimum of 3% calcium carbonate (CaCO3) with a pH range 8-9.5 Acid Free
-  Metallic Impurities, Iron will not exceed 150 ppm and copper shall not exceed 6 ppm. No optical brightening agents are used in the pulp.
-  The lignin content is measured by the phloroglucinol test with a Kappa number of 5 or less.
-  Made from fully bleached, high alpha cellulose pulp. It does not contain any post consumer waste recycled pulp. Paper is free of metal particles, waxes, plasticizers, residual bleach, peroxide, sulfur content is less than 0.0008% reducible sulfur.
-  Alkaline or neutral sizing are used. No alum rosin or rosin sizing are used.
-  Color pigment dyes are light-fast and non-bleeding.
-  This paper passes the PAT (Photographic Activity Test) ISO 14523 formally ANSI IT9.16
